We are looking for a client development associate.

The Business Development Associate for KZF Design’s Transportation Group is an outgoing door-opener, a charismatic and collaborative strategic thinker with business acumen and an entrepreneurial inclination.

The Business Development Associate is intelligent with a keen sense of inquiry and an ability to inspire the same in others by being a good communicator. He or she possesses confidence, is positive and outgoing, with a strong social kinesthetic sense.

The Business Development Associate should have knowledge of the public sector and the challenges and opportunities presented by working within a governmental framework. They should have initiative and confidence, and the ability to inspire confidence in clients by being a credible professional. He or she must display strong organizational skills as well as clear and concise communication skills. They are a ‘concierge,’ a facilitator, a person who acts with urgency, meets deadlines and delivers on promises.

Experienced in the transportation/civil engineering marketplace, this person is a connected networker who knows how to hunt for good clients and good projects, has integrity and capability. He or she has the ability to foster a sense of camaraderie and high morale with integrity and capability.

The ideal candidate is goal-oriented, client-centered and open-minded and has experience either as a technical or service marketing professional.

The responsibilities of the Business Development Associate include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • “Make and Keep the Promise” to clients and staff
  • Help implement overall market strategy and objectives
  • Maintain and improve market profitability through meeting/exceeding sales goals
  • Increase market share in transportation/civil engineering market
  • Strengthen relationships with current clients/understand key clients
  • Develop new relationships and expand client base
  • Find new opportunities and qualify leads – be an “opportunity miner”
  • Listen to and understand client needs to maximize opportunities – then relate appropriate information/needs back to Market leaders
  • Establish common goals and expectations with clients
  • Participate in the proposal and interview process
  • Establish clear “brand identity” internally and externally

Do you meet these specifications?

Required

  • Proven track record of Business Development or Marketing
  • Proven track record developing sales leads
  • Comfortable with 50% time out-of-office and local travel

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 5 years of business development experience
  • Outside interests – community involvement
  • Involvement with civic or professional organizations
  • Experience with public, government agencies and procurement

Desired

  • Engineering background
  • Experience with CRM, Salesforce or other comparable system
  • Knowledge of civil/transportation market
  • Understanding of A/E/C industry
  • 10 years of business development experience
