Zaha Hadid’s first US commission becomes “the most important American building since the end of the Cold War.”

Project Type: Museum
Client: Contemporary Arts Center
Square feet: 87,500 SF
Construction Cost: $20,000,000

KZF was the Architect of Record working in association with internationally acclaimed architect, Zaha Hadid, on the new $20M Lois and Richard Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art. The 87,200 SF space is six stories high with a lower level, expanding the existing Contemporary Arts Center’s space over six times. Tucked in the lower level, there is a 125-seat performance space and a catering kitchen to support special functions. Administrative offices are located on the third floor as well as part of the fourth and there is a coffee bar at the lobby level. The sixth floor houses the Unmuseum, an interactive educational center for children and families.
