in Roadways 5 Nov A complicated intersection realignment and safety improvement project. Project Type: Roadway Client: City of Hamilton, Ohio Construction Cost: $3,700,000 Length: 1,000 LF KZF Design provided civil engineering services to realign a complicated intersection in the City of Hamilton. The proposed improvement includes realigning the Eaton Avenue/Millville Avenue approaches to the intersection so they align across from each other. This will significantly improve traffic operations and safety at the intersection. The purpose of this project is to simplify traffic patterns, reduce congestion and reduce crashes. The project is not specifically designed to increase capacity, but improved operations are expected due to increased efficiency of the improved intersection. Combining what amounts to two intersections into a single intersection will greatly improve signal efficiency, reduce conflict points and reduce the number of required stops and travel time through the intersection.
