
The Director of KZF Design’s Community Infrastructure Group is a proactive self-starter, able to consistently deliver on their commitments. In addition, the Director will be able to develop new relationships with clients and partners while nurturing existing ones.

This person is a good communicator, verbal and written, who is approachable and is regarded as a good listener. The Director will act as a “diplomatâ€, managing and prioritizing multiple issues with several stakeholders. Patience and persistence, and good problem-solving skills, will be necessary for this work. The ideal Director will be equally comfortable with the technical aspects of project management and the interpersonal aspects of business development.
This person is very comfortable with teaching, coaching, and mentoring. He or she will be able to make and meet market goals, demonstrating good business acumen, strategic thinking, and a focus on outcomes. This is a leader who can delegate to others, is regarded as being fair and reasonable, and willing to hold people accountable in a consistent and non-judgmental manner.

The responsibilities of the Community Infrastructure Director include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Make and Keep the Promise! – make certain our technical staff and design professionals consistently deliver on KZF’s promise of good design, scope, schedule, budget, quality and client satisfaction
- Set and meet Market sales goals – increasing sales, market share and client lists
- Understand our clients’ needs and marketplace approach
- Develop new relationships with clients, consultants, and partners
- Nurture existing relationships with clients, consultants, and partners
- Manage projects within the market umbrella
- Understand and market KZF’s strengths and capabilities
- Establish a clear brand strategy, internally and externally
- Create and make market business strategy and budgets
- Represent KZF at trade/industry conferences and networking opportunities
- Build, develop and support KZF’s internal team
Do you meet these specifications?
Required
- Bachelor Degree from an ABET accredited university
- Registered Engineer or Architect (PE or RA, Civil PE preferred)
- Demonstrated track record of business development, closing sales and achieving sales goals
- Strong knowledge of the Transportation, Civil, Bridge and Infrastructure marketplaces
- 10+ years of experience in the transportation, civil, bridge and infrastructure marketplace, with demonstrated understanding of client needs, federal, state and local municipality procurement processes, term contracts, and negotiation procedures
- 5 years of experience managing a transportation and infrastructure marketplace business unit
- Demonstrated project management skills using PMP processes
- Understanding of financial, marketing/business development, and strategic planning principles
- Strong written, oral, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Master Degree from an ABET accredited university
- Additional professional certifications (PMP, LEED AP, NCEES, etc.)
- Membership in professional organizations related to the public transportation and infrastructure market sectors
Desired
- Comfortable with some travel and significant portion of work out of the office
- Experience speaking and presenting on industry topics at trade shows/conferences
- Active in local/community organizations
