KZF combines resources with the professional design team from Cincinnati-based PFB Architects
Staff expansion strengthens both Client Service and Market Presence
CINCINNATI, OHIO (July 17, 2018) — KZF Design, one of Cincinnati’s largest architecture, engineering, interior design and planning firms, announced today that it has hired the entire professional design team of Cincinnati-based PFB Architects. This action brings together the experience and knowledge of two organizations with a long history of exceptional client service, deep local roots and national reach. The newly combined team will be based in KZF Design’s downtown Cincinnati office, located at 700 Broadway Street.
“The professionals of PFB Architects are well-respected and have earned a reputation for providing high-quality architecture design services throughout our region,” said KZF Design President and CEO Bob Steele. “Their addition to our staff provides KZF with greater capacity to offer expanded services that help our clients design better futures.”
PFB Architects brings a history of more than 70 years of significant contributions to the architecture and built environment locally, regionally and nationally. Their seven architects and interior designers join KZF’s in-house, full-service design team, which also includes engineering and planning resources. This multidisciplinary design approach enhances both project coordination and execution.
“Our design professionals are thrilled to join forces with KZF’s team and to expand the services we offer,” said PFB Architects Inc. CEO Jeff Evans. “Both organizations believe that establishing mutually beneficial relationships allows us to best define and fulfill the specific needs of our clients. This shared philosophy provides the basis for a smooth transition as we align our teams.”
The markets served by KZF Design in both the public and private sectors complement the experience of PFB’s staff. Its designers have specific proficiency with healthcare, senior living, higher education and commercial projects.
“With the addition of the professionals from PFB, we are deepening our design bench, adding to our firm’s leadership, and expanding our services and expertise,” said Steele. ”At the same time, we are reinforcing our commitment to growing our ownership and leadership, while keeping it here in Cincinnati.”
KZF Design’s announcement comes as the organization continues to set the stage for its next 20 years. This past fall, the firm announced the expansion of its ownership and management team, the first step in a multiyear leadership and shareholder transition that targets a full transfer to the firm’s fourth generation of owners by the year 2020.
KZF Design is consistently ranked among the top architectural and engineering firms in the city. The team’s integrated approach gives clients a single point of contact on projects specifically intended to bring a company, institution or city’s culture to life through designs that transform organizations and communities for the future. While based in Cincinnati, KZF Design’s reach includes work throughout the U.S. and around the globe.
