KZF Welcomes Michael McInturf as Design Director

KZF Design is proud to announce that Michael McInturf, AIA, NCARB, a nationally recognized architect and design leader, has joined the firm as Design Director.

Along with Michael, the full design team of Michael McInturf Architects (MMA) has also joined KZF. Their addition brings an expanded depth of design talent and further strengthens the firm’s ability to deliver innovative solutions across all markets.

Michael’s relationship with KZF dates back to 2007, when he served as interim Design Director and was the driving force behind the design of KZF’s current headquarters in downtown Cincinnati. Following numerous collaborations over the years, he now returns to lead the firm’s design vision, championing creativity and innovation across all KZF projects.

As founder and president of Michael McInturf Architects (MMA) since 1995, Michael has built a reputation for digitally driven, context-sensitive design that blends technology and craft while exploring innovative design solutions. His portfolio spans residential, urban infill, master planning, public art, and experimental furniture, earning numerous design awards. Notable projects include the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame, the Cincinnati Bengals locker room at Paycor Stadium, multiple University of Cincinnati projects, religious facilities in Queens, New York and New Philadelphia, Ohio, and international work in Austria, China, and Romania.

In addition to his professional practice, Michael has served as a professor and Director of the School of Architecture & Interior Design at the University of Cincinnati, where he has advanced design thinking and research while mentoring future generations of architects.

“I am very excited to return to KZF and work alongside such a talented and diverse team. My interest has always been in pushing design forward while creating spaces that inspire, perform, and endure. Together, we have an incredible opportunity to elevate our work and deliver exceptional results for both our clients and the public at large,” said Michael McInturf, Design Director.

“Michael’s return marks an exciting chapter for KZF,” said President & CEO Douglas Marsh. “His leadership and vision will strengthen our commitment to design excellence and help us deliver innovative solutions for our clients.”

As the Design Director, Michael will lead and mentor design teams, set the standard for design quality, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to fulfill KZF’s mission: “Help our clients design a better future.”
