KZF provided project management, architectural and structural design, as part of a design/build team, for a new 512-bed low-security women’s facility located on a 990-acre site adjacent to the Hazelton US Penitentiary. The facility is similar to other federal correctional institutions with individual housing buildings centered on an open courtyard in a campus-like plan and support spaces wrapping around the courtyard on the remaining three sides.
