The Hirsch Recreation Center is in the heart of the Avondale neighborhood in Cincinnati. The center offers a variety of recreational, sports, art, fitness and educational activities to meet the needs of the community. Constructed in 1970, this beacon of the Avondale community needed to be brought up to current standards, including a full renovation and expansion to add much needed recreation space, windows, kitchen, entry, lobby and daycare spaces.

KZF Design provided full architecture and engineering services for a complete renovation and expansion. The $3M project included a 17,000 SF renovation and 6,700 SF expansion, including a new HVAC system to increase energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.
