KZF Design partnered with VMDO Architects to design a new elementary school at Camp Humphreys in South Korea. The 100,000 SF school is a critical part of the growth of Camp Humphreys, with an enrollment of 440 children who are part of military connected families serving overseas.

The new school includes classrooms, student support spaces, special academic and creative program spaces as well as administrative, counseling and health suites. Outside the building, the site will take advantage of its location to provide for outdoor learning opportunities, in addition to providing typical playgrounds and fields. In addition, the site encourages the walkability of the residential precinct of the base with pedestrian friendly features and routes.

Sustainable features include energy efficiency, daylight and fresh air, natural, low maintenance landscaping, and design to promote health and well-being.
