KZF Design provided architecture, MEP, structural engineering, and interior design for a new 19,500 SF headquarters fire station for the City of Lebanon, OH. The new station is located adjacent the City’s renowned historic downtown district, serving as the district’s northern gateway.
Station design includes elements drawn directly from the surrounding historical fabric in its massing, materials, and composition, as well as from the City’s original fire station constructed in the late 1800’s.
The new state-of-the art facility contains four apparatus bays, day room, gear room, decontamination areas, admin offices, public and crew rest rooms, kitchen/dining room, dorm area, locker room, fitness room, training/community/ECC room and associated support areas.
The design also implements the latest in occupant health and wellness features including extensive decontamination areas, staged in a “hot-warm-cold” configuration aimed at minimizing the introduction of carcinogens into the staff living quarters and administrative areas.
