KZF Design provided architecture, interior design, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural engineering for the restoration and adaptive reuse of a former Carnegie Library, built in 1916, into the North Vernon Government Center. The completed project houses the offices of the Mayor and provides meeting space for local groups. Work in the 6,500 SF structure included restoration of the masonry exterior, gutters, downspouts and dentil moldings, window repair, ADA upgrades, restrooms, HVAC replacement, asbestos abatement and finish upgrades. The restoration of this building at its location in downtown signals an important reinvestment in the central business district.
