KZF Design provided full architecture, engineering, and interior design for the conversion of a former museum building into 60,000 SF of new TV station studios and offices. KZF worked with the station and the City to find and evaluate the site, which is adjacent to Eden Park. The most visible face of the building is on the Gilbert Avenue side of the site: a green glass curtainwall, 240′ long and two stories high, tilted out from the top to cut down the sun glare and reflections. Acoustical considerations were a concern and special attention was paid to mechanical system design in order to ensure noise from running equipment did not penetrate into the studios during broadcasts.
